Never in my life did I ever think we would be going through such things in life. Being told to stay home, being temporarily unemployed or even to just being unemployed, having to struggle to find every day household items we’ve used without even thinking the next day we may not have, and to no longer being able to attend school or Church.
That being said I hope you are choosing to truly reflect on life during this pandemic.
I hope you’ve learned to be more PATIENT. I hope you are patient with the grocery store workers who are working tons of hours to stock shelves at the store so that you can bring home food for your family. I hope you are being patient with those who are working and doing the best they can during these times to help you and answer your questions. I hope you are being patient with the businesses who aren’t able to be open but wish they were. I hope you are patient with nurses and doctors who are sleep deprived trying to help get those that are sick better. I hope you are patient with your loved ones, who might be stressed and overwhelmed because they lost their job and have a family to take care of. Everyone is doing the best they can and working as much as they are able too. I truly hope during all this you’ve learned how to simply be PATIENT.
I hope you’ve learned to APPRECIATE your loved ones. Many people during this time have lost loved ones, friends, co-workers, etc. I hope you truly sit back and appreciate all the people in your life. You truly never know when the last time you will ever speak with them. And that’s every day, not just during a pandemic. We are never guaranteed the next day, next minute, next second so appreciate those who love you, who care for you, and who are there for you. Tell people you love them, tell people you are thinking of them, and check on them, you never know when it’s their time or your time to go. Time is precious, always remember that.
Most of all I hope this pandemic has HUMBLED you and made you realize how THANKFUL you are. To be humble you must put others above yourself. Selfishness is something we all do from time to time, but during this time we had to do what was best for others not necessarily what we wanted to do for ourselves. We needed to realize even though we wanted to be able to get out and see our friends and loved ones that is not what is best for everyone during this time. Staying apart from one another is never an easy thing to do but in order to help others stay safe it’s what we have had to do. I hope you have realized how thankful you are. There are families who have lost loved ones during this time. If your family is home safe have a roof over your head and food on your table, you are blessed. Children who depended on school to have meals don’t have those now, families who were single income families that have now taken a job loss, are struggling to put food on their table. We could always have it worse. We could be sick, fighting for our lives; we could have a loved one having to pass without the comfort of a family member by their side. Trust me when I say you are blessed, open your eyes and see the blessings in front of you.
This pandemic has allowed me to do a lot of self reflection, its allowed me to open my eyes and appreciate the little things, appreciate my loved ones and friends. My family has been blessed during this pandemic, we have had a lot to be thankful for, and I don’t take a single ounce of that for granted. I truly hope you don’t either.
